November Wanderings
Greetings Adventurers! ⚔️🍂
We're almost to the winter months here, but I wanted to create one last musical hurrah in celebration of the autumn season! Cue the drum roll... 🥁
Welcome to The Magician's Forest!
For this song, we return to the woods in which 'The Mouse Knight' takes place. The overgrown woodland surrounds the solitary Magician's tower lair, enchanted to eternally be hued in autumn splendor (it seems to be his favorite season and he's really passionate about decorating). Perhaps it was from one of the many, many grand clocks in the Magician's study (we have yet to be able to decipher what they are all for..) that the Mouse Knight obtained his minute sword.
Now let's discuss the music! For this piece, I used many mechanical/clock sounds as percussive accents. The sound of the harpsichord is one I always associate with wizardry so it was imperative to use it as such here. And, discerning bards, if you listen very closely, you may catch a play on my 'magic' leitmotif during the latter half of the piece. (comment and let me know if you do find it!)
These darker months lend themselves best to cozy, comforting activities. Reading, crafting, gaming and the like. I've been on a bit of a Skyrim kick again, spending most of my time picking mushrooms in crypts (as you do), but also have of late been enjoying playing D&D in person with friends. And of course, once there's snow on the ground, it will really be time for longer board games like Mage Knight and Frost Haven. Seeing as how winter is not my favorite time of year, it is nice to have these fun things to look forward to :)
I hope you are also finding magic in the everyday, and that this new music will bring just a bit extra! ✨
